About

Hello,  I am Brad Trachte and this is my first year at Shadow Ridge and 6th year in a teaching capacity.  I have been coaching at Shadow Ridge with the Girl's Basketball program since 2014.  I really enjoyed the students that I have been working with and wanted to come work with the entire student population.

I have taught art for the past 24 years and I have taught everything from Jewelry to Honors Art.  Sculpture to Art 9.  Ceramic 7-8 to Drawing and Painting.  The change with each area is that I get to be refreshed and challenge my students in different ways.

I try to give the students an opportunity to put a little of themselves in their work while they are trying to produce top quality work.  If your child comes home not feeling challenged, then they are not putting forth effort to challenge themselves.

I was born in Madison, Wisconsin and have lived in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Arizona over my lifetime.  I have 4 daughters and a wonderful wife that make my life complete.

Testimonial

”An artist's early work is inevitably made up of a mixture of tendencies and interests, some of which are compatible and some of which are in conflict. As the artist picks his way along, rejecting and accepting as he goes, certain patterns of enquiry emerge. His failures are as valuable as his successes: by misjudging one thing he conforms something else, even if at the time he does not know what that something else is.”

Large Projects 2016-2017

Painting

Unlike the canvas, I have a painting that I would like to make using my basketball team as my muse.  They are wonderful girls and I would like to paint their images in a way that is inspiring for others to want to try something new.

Design A Bench

I have two benches that are prepped and ready to be painted to artistically enhance the Shadow Ridge Environment. These will be available for the Art Club or Painting 3-4 students to paint for something fun and different.
